Switching to C++ won't magically cause you to write efficient code, if you're writing code that is ineffective Java. It is extremely rare that the language there RuneScape gold is a tool written in is the cause of downturn. Frankly, IME, most of the"speedup" projects get from switching languages is simply from the lazerfocus introduced by the rewrite. This causes those"why is that composed like this?" Questions actually being followed-up on because it needs to be rewritten anyway, why not fix it. All this entirely ignores. I can only imagine the quantity of dev-hours consumed (and the disappearance of players since the already dwindling update listing perishes completely).
I would imagine that every npc they add needs more cpu. For example: even if isn't a person on Anachronia, dinosaurs and all those dinosaurs are moving around. This along with other updates which also need additional cpu usage, such as keeping track of vents, farm animals, research teams, the growing list of buffs/debuffs which each active player can have, etc.. Most updates are going to boost the cpu use of the server but they don't upgrade the servers unless completely necessary.
I'm not certain if anybody knows the answer or not, but I am interested how RS servers operate to other games in response. Do things continue occurring when nobody is there? By way of instance, in Slime Rancher, the map is divided into like 5 or 6 areas. When you are not in that region, RuneScape stops playing idle animations. Your robots quit functioning. But after having been there for two days once you teleport to that place, you suddenly get the resources from your bots as if they had been running for two days, even if they were not actually moving. Like, even if you AFK in a map with bots, you will periodically see your money go up a bit as they market stuff, but if you travel to some other area, you are going to get a huge chunk of money that's been accumulating for awhile.
Does RS work better if there's less parts of the world occupied? Would it function better than having 100 from the party room, 25 in Varrock, 25 at Canifis, 25 in a Kree'arra boss mass, and 25 at Prif like when 200 players were in Prifddinas? Since there has been an increase in Slayer popularity, I'm wondering, also you can't discuss Slayer spots, in comparison to a elderly skilling Fishing having individuals training or moneymaking methods. If the player base being spread more thin actually has a negative impact, I'm wondering. Not I have any solutions or anything, I'm just interested. RuneScape planet has expanded a bit, over the years, along with upgrading graphics, so it is also possible that it's just a lot of stress on the servers even if there's not many gamers.
The world that was most likely as with mmorps is always loaded. And of course that the amount of robots that the likelyhood that any area doesn't have atleast one participant to buy rs 3 gold is slim. Well I mean, for example, the Fist of Guthix lobby doesn't have to be loaded unless there's players in RuneScape. Stuff like that could potential be plotted unless somebody has played it, in the last half an hour, on this planet. Same with so on, boss arenas and resource dungeons. I recall them saying that the reason for no large dungeons that are solo was because with all those instances added to a planet would make it lag. Having tons of boss instances is fine, though, I guess? Guestz on
